About Us

We began operating as a Childcare & Preschool Center in September 2016 and have built the program on the reputation and experience of Creative Learning Preschool which operated in the Lake Bonavista Community for over 30 years. We achieved full accreditation status in November 2017

Our Philosophy on Childcare

Creative Learning Center provides a child centered, developmentally appropriate childcare program that creates opportunities for young children to explore and grow as their individual skills emerge.  We support children in their social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative development. The foundation of the program is based on the knowledge that in order for children to form an understanding of the world they must be given the opportunity and ample time to play and explore their environment. Play gives  children a chance to manipulate and discover things at their own pace, and to dig deeper as they develop confidence.

Each child has a different way of managing their environment and we encourage each individual learning style by incorporating a curriculum based on the ideas and interests of the children. It gives a child a sense of ownership in their own learning and encourages them to ask questions.  When children are curious, absorbed and interested in something they benefit from the opportunity to investigate and follow through with their interests. 

The early years of a child’s life are the most critical for instilling foundations for learning for the rest of their lives. Our childcare educators guide behavior, extend children’s play and prepare environments that serve individual needs and facilitate child development.

Creative Learning Center recognizes and supports parents and families as the primary caregivers for their children and recognizes the role of  the wider community in providing a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
